Support Workers, Complex Care – Central Cheshire

Overview:

Experienced care workers needed to form a small team, of ideally 3 people, to support a lady with motor neurone disease for 7 days of the week.  One person to cover 3 days, two people to cover 2 days each.

The role will involve 12 hour shifts from 8am until 8pm.  Breaks will be provided throughout the day by care calls delivered by our team.

Support required will include:

  • Toileting
  • Medication administration via a PEG, to include PEG rotation and cleaning
  • Providing meals throughout the day
  • Using cough assist machine
  • Using nebuliser
  • Using non-invasive ventilation machine
  • Communications via a tablet to provide conversation and stimulation
  • Support to learn Eyegaze technology as this will become the primary tool used for communication
  • Adjusting cushions for support and ensuring the client is comfortable throughout the day
  • Liaising with the client’s husband who will be present in the home

Key Points:

  • Employment is subject to satisfactory enhanced DBS checks, satisfactory references and the right to work in the UK
  • Completion of all SureCare theoretical and practical training
  • Required to work 1 in 3 weekends
  • Previous experience in care needed
  • Ability to travel to postcode area CW3

Benefits:

  • Hourly rates are £10.50 for weekdays, £11.25 for evenings (after 6pm) and for weekends. Bank holidays are paid at £14.25 day rate / £16.50 evening rate. Christmas Day and New Year’s Day are both paid at double time. Opportunity for pay increases as you become more qualified
